12.50 crores will be spent on tourism development in Andrauli


Approximately ₹12.50 crore will be allocated for tourism development in Andrauli, situated on the banks of Gobindsagar Lake within the Kutlahad assembly constituency. These funds will be used to acquire equipment for various aquatic recreational activities such as jet skiing, kayaking, sailing, and yachting, transforming the area into an attractive tourist destination. This information was shared by Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal during a meeting of the Kutlehad Tourism Development Committee (KTDS).

The Deputy Commissioner also mentioned that food vans will be purchased to promote local cuisine. Additionally, efforts are underway to develop a waiting area near the Gharib Das temple to provide more facilities for tourists.

A new chapter in festive culture will begin with a grand carnival, which will be organized for the first time this year. The carnival will take place from December 25 to 31 and will feature activities such as water sports, cultural events, local street food stalls, and candle camping. Chief Minister Shri Sukhravinder Singh Sukkhu had instructed the organization of this carnival during his Kutlahad tour, and the district administration is actively preparing for it. The event aims to promote local tourism and add a new dimension to the festive culture.

In another meeting, Deputy Commissioner presided over the Changar Charitable Society of Temple Peer Gaus Pak XI, reviewing the progress of development works costing ₹11.40 crore at the temple. He instructed the swift completion of a temporary road to ensure devotees can access the temple by September 15. Additionally, tenders will soon be called to lease the first and second floors of the temple, and ₹3 lakh has been approved for courtyard repairs and the construction of four walls.

The meeting was attended by various officials, including SDM Bangana Sonu Goyal, CPO Sanjay Sankhyan, District Panchayat Officer Neelam Katoch, and BDO Bangana Sushil Kumar.
