Shanol festival celebrated in traditional way in Keonthal area
Shanol i.e. Hariyali festival was celebrated in the traditional way on Friday in the Keonthal area of Mashobra block. On this auspicious festival, sweet and salty Siddu and Shanol were made by the people in their homes as a special dish, which was distributed among their brothers and brothers. People also received the blessings of the deity in their favorite temple. There is a different pleasure in eating Siddu and Shanol with ghee and curd in the rain. Shanol i.e. Hariyali festival is a reflection of the rich culture of the Keonthal region, which people celebrate with great enthusiasm this year.

The 20th entry day of the month of Shravan is celebrated as a Shanol festival every year in the areas of Sirmour and Solan bordering the Keonthal area. People have been celebrating this festival since time immemorial, on this day worship of God is considered to be of special importance. Fairs are also organized in many villages at the Shanol festival. In the past, wrestling was organized at the Shanol festival at Dudmun in Peeran and Kot in Trahai village, but due to the changing environment, these fairs have been closed. Similarly, a fair is organized in Nei Neti every year on the occasion of Shanol in the past. Indira Thakur of Trahai village said that there is a special importance in making traditional dishes at the Shanol festival, people make sweet and salty siddu on this day which is eaten with ghee and curd. They say that this Hariyali festival is being celebrated since time immemorial in which women especially apply henna. People seek the blessings of the deity in the temple of their Kulishta.
