National Ice Hockey Championship ITBP beat Army 3-1
National Ice Hockey Championship (Men’s Category) 2022 concluded at Ice Hockey Rink Kaza in Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. In the final match played in between ITBP and Army former defeat latter by 3-1. In the first two half, the ITBP team scored two goals while the Army team could not score a single goal. At the same time, in the last half, the army team scored a goal and tried to return to the match. But ITBP again scored third goal however the army team could not equalised it till the last minute of the play. Dr. Ram Lal Markanda, Minister of Technical Education, Information Technology also attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Addressing the program, he said that all the players who took part in the competition performed brilliantly. He said that after Ladakh, Spiti will be made the hub of ice hockey. Dashboards from abroad have been installed here at a cost of Rs 37 lakh. He requested Ice Hockey Association to give priority to Spiti in organizing similar events in future also. Announcing to build high altitude sports center, He said tha ice skating rink to be converted after covering the rink by big roof. He said that expansion of the rink would provide allweather facility to sports persons as they could use it in the snowfall too. With the efforts of the state government, kits worth Rs 26 lakh have been provided for 22 players and coaches in Kaza.A gym equipped with state-of-the-art facilities will soon be built in Kaza he also nnounced an initial release of five lakh rupees for the gym.
