Mirza Irani won Talai wrestling  

The traditional Chhij Mela held at Talai near Chiyog in Kasumpti constituency with local fervor and gaiety on Sunday. The famous wrestler of Iran, Mirza Irani defeated the famous wrestler Guru Sevak Khanna of Punjab in the final and made his name as Mali.  Both these wrestlers were given a reward of 1.25 lakh by the Mela Committee.  Keep in mind that thousands of people gather to enjoy the Chinj fair.  In which apart from Shimla district, people of Sirmaur and Solan on the border take part. Every year in this Chinj fair, the famous wrestlers of India show their talent.  Rahul Thakur, deputy head of Chiyog Panchayat, said that Deshu Timba’s Kali Mata is the dedicated to deity of the region, the people of the area are committed to organize this fair to appease the Kali Mata, so that there is no outbreak of any epidemic in the area but happiness and prosperity. 

 He said that this year a prize worth 1.21 lakh was kept by Chhinj Mela Committee which was sponsored by Baldev Thakur, owner of Adventure Resort Kufri. Himachal Pradesh Kissan Sabha president Dr Kuldeep Singh Tanwar also greeted the people of Cheog to organise successful event.
