Famous Chhinj fair to be held at Talai in Fagu on 1st October
The famous Chhinj fair of North India will be celebrated as per tradition at Talai near Fagu on 1st October. In which a cash prize of Rs 1.35 lakh has been kept by the final gardener’s fair committee. , This Chhinj is organized every year on the last week of September or the first Sunday of October. This Chhinj fair is celebrated in the name of Deshu Kali Mata, the worshipable goddess of the area.
Dinesh Jogta, head of local panchayat Chiyog and chairman of the fair management committee, said that this Chhinj fair has been celebrated since time immemorial, which is organized by three panchayats Chiyog, Dehana and Dadhas. Every year famous wrestlers from North India participate in this Chhinj fair. Apart from Shimla district, lakhs of people from Solan and Sirmaur come to see this spectacle.
He said that the money worth Rs 1.35 lakh kept by the fair committee is distributed in a ratio of 70:30 between the winner and the runner-up. He said that Harish Thakur, head of vegetable market Dhali Parala, and businessman Nishant Nag of Hipp Hipp Hurray Kufri will be present as special guests in this fair. The special sponsor of the fair will be Gopal Sharma Chiog. Dinesh Jogta said that a lucky draw has also been organized by the fair committee to attract the people. In which Alto K-10 car has been kept as the main prize. While the second prize is a scooter, the third prize is a geared bicycle and other prizes.
