Expansion of Tourism Infra: BRO agrees to return the North Portal of Rohtang Tunnel to administration

Deputy Commissioner Lahaul Spiti stated today that Border Road Organization agreed to vacate and returned the unused land at North Portal of Rohtang Tunnel which would be further used by the district administration to built up the tourism infrastructure/
In a press statement issued by DC Lahual Spiti Mr Neeraj Kumar said that district administration would assist the BRO to handover the lands for the construction of Shinkula Pass  and this pass would be developed as tourist point for the further expansion of tourism activities in the future.
Deputy Commissioner said that with commissioning of Atal tunnel the tourism activities would be given more impetuses there is unutilized land of BRO at Sisu, on the north portal BRO would would transfer the land to administration to develop and expand the tourists infrastructure on it likely to be help the state to facilitates the tourists  by providing them more amenities.   
This land was handed over to BRO on the temporary basis for construction of tunnel and now the land to be returned to the government after achieving the target of tunnel. This picturesque Lahaul Valley would also helped the local people to increase their participation in the  hospitality industry with development of more infrastructures.\ There are proposal to built up three more tunnel beyond Keylong on the Manali-Leh strategical highway and the efforts are on to transfer the land by the administration for construction of Shinkula pass tunnel in the given time scheduled developed by the BRO.
The Rohtang and three other new tunnels likely to be short the distance between Manali and Leh by 100 km beside it would provide all weather road connectivity between the to tourist resorts, the Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also announced recently.
