Coldwave further intensify in Himachal , Mercury plummet’s below normal
The extreme coldwave further intensified in Himachal Pradesh as Mercury plummet below normal in minus and freezing point, the Met Office said. Minimum temperature was season’s lowest at Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti district recorded minus 22 degree Celsius. Mercury plummets to three to four degrees below normal in Shimla, Palampur and Hamirpur. Minimum temperature of Keylong was minus 6.4, Kalpa minus 4.6, Tourist resort Manali minud 1.5, Narkanda minus 3.2, Kufri minus 1.8 , Recong-peo minus 1.3, Una, Mandi, Solan, Dalhousie and Hamirpur zero degree, Shimla one, Chamba 2.4 degrees, Kangra three and Dharmshala five.The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in next 24hrs. The high reaches may have rain or snowfall in next 48 hrs. Lahaul-Spiti Administeration issued advisory that there is a possibility of bad weather and high chances of snowfall in Lahaul Spiti on December 25 and 26 Locals and tourists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel due to inclement weather and travel only in case of emergency. And , all hotel and home stay owners are requested to convey this message to their guests and advise them not to travel to high altitude areas during this period and stay at a safe place .
