A fully grown Himalayan palm civet seen in US club Shimla
A fully grown Himalayan Civet seen in the US club area of Shimla town on Saturday the wildcat is being kept in the IUCN Red List also housed in Kufri Zoo but it was moving to dwelling are with increasing forest canopy in the part of town or likely taken safe passage from the increasing forest fire incident. The cat like ripen fruit and vegetables were also found in Himalayan ranges of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Local resident Manjeet Negi said that they saw it on a tree near block- 35 in the US Club near Mall Road, Shimla. It resembles like red panda and bear having long tail. Since part of town house leopard resident were initially panic considering it as a leopard. A few days ago a leopard cub was also seen on the tree at same place. Ms Negi said that Himalayan palm civet is also known as spectral bear.
