Tourism on up swing 2.57 lakh vehicles enter state in two week alone
Hospitality industry is on up swing after passing through last three months long Corona Curfew now as number of tourists make bee lines to various hill station as in last two weeks 2 .57 lakh vehicles enter in the state.
State police spokesperson said in a statement issued here today that an average of about 18370 vehicles are entering state every day.
During the last two weeks, since the COVID curfew has been lifted on 14.06.2021, a total of 2,57,179 vehicles have entered Himachal Pradesh.
He said that of these, 1,31,216 vehicles entered between Jun 13 to Jun 20 and 1,25,963 vehicles entered between Jun 20 to Jun 27 , till yesterday.
All tourist places are jam packed after gap of almost one and half years as hospitality industry hit hard during last two subsequent Covid wave in the state.
State annual footfall of Tourist drastically come down to few lakhs compared to normal annual footfall of about 1.75 Cr due to lock down in last summer and increasing of cases in the winter season.
Since April to mid of June footfall of Tourist remained negligible as it came to grinding halt after announcement of Corona Curfew in end of April this year.
The restrictions caused massive loss to tourism and hospitality industry also rendering unrecoverable loss to transport businesses and travel agency which are integral part of state tourism.
State police also adopting zero tolerance to violate Corona guidelines. The Fine of Rs. 17,000 was also realized for MV Act violation, Rs. 3,500 were realized as fine for driving without masks.
However, the total fine realized for mask violations during the period was Rs. 20.05 lacs with 3,620 challans.
For the violation of marriage permits issued during the COVID-19 pandemic four challans were issued and realising Rs. 15,000 fine, he added.
