SJVN signs Contract Agreement for EPC of 75 MW Solar Project at Parasan Solar Park

SJVN entered into Contract Agreement for development of 75 MW (AC) Solar Power Project at Parasan Solar Park, Uttar Pradesh on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)basis with subsequent O&M for three years with M/s Solarworld Energy Solutions Private Limited, Noida.  
The Contract was signed in the benign presence of Shri Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman& Managing Director, Smt. Geeta Kapur Director (Personnel), Shri S.P. Bansal Director (Civil), Shri Akhileshwar Singh Director (Finance), Shri Sushil Sharma Director (Electrical).

The contract was signed by Shri S. K. Sood, General Manager, Electrical Contracts, SJVN & Mr Kartik Teltia, Director., Solarworld. On this occasion senior officials from SJVN & Solarworld were also present.
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma apprised that the EPC Cost of the Project is Rs. 313.59 Crores, and the project has been awarded to M/s Solarworld Energy Solutions Private Limited. The project is scheduled to be commissioned by August, 2022.

Sh. Sharma further informed that, SJVN bagged this project through competitive bidding held by Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) at a tariff of₹2.68 per unit for 25 years. The Project will generate 168.343 MU energy annually with Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 25.06%. Parasan Solar Park is located at Tehsil Kalpi, District Jalaun near Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Nand Lal Sharma further said that, with this allotment, SJVN now has 1445 MW of Solar Projects under execution. He stated that all these Solar Projects are scheduled to be commissioned byFinancial Year 2023-24, which shall be a gigantic leap for SJVN’s Renewable Capacity.

 Mr Sharma further stated that Government of India has envisaged the vision of Power to All 24X7. Recently in United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26), Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, India’s intent to generate 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030. 
He also informed that Union Minister of Power & NRE, Sh. R.K. Singh is extending greatguidance & support to all power sector PSUs to go aggressively in harnessing of Solar Power potential to achieve goal of 24X7 affordable and green power.  
In line with the target set by the Government of India, SJVN has set its Shared Vision of capacity addition of 5000 MW by 2023, 12000 MW by 2030 & 25000 MW by 2040.
