Consumer price index up by 1.1 points
All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial workers or June 2021 increased by 1.1 pointsand stood at 121.7(one hundred twenty one and point seven) On one month percentage change, it incresed by 0.91 per cent with respect to previous month compared to an increase of 061 per cent recorded between corresponding months a year ago.
The maximum upward pressure in current index came from Food and Beverages group contributing 072 per centagepoints to the total change. At item level , Rice, Fish fresh, Poultry or Chicken, Eggs-Hen, Edible Oil, Apple, Banana,Brinjal, Carrot, Cauliflower, French Beans, Onion, Potato, Tomato, Tea-leaf, Electricity ,Domestic, Kerosene Oil,Barber/ Beautician charges, Doctor’s, Surgeon’s Free,Petrol for vehicle, etc are responsible for the rise in index.
However, this increase was largely checked by Arhar Dal, Coconut, Fresh with Pulp, Mango, Pomegranate or Anarwater, water Melon, Lemon, Tamarind, etc putting downward pressure on the index.
At centre level, Shillong recorded maximum increase of 62 points followed by Puducherry and Bhopal with 35 points and3.1 points respectively Among others, 13 Centers observed a declined between 01 to 07 points. Rest of twocenters remained stationary.
Year-on-year inflation for the month stood at 5..57 per cent compared to 5.25 per cent compared 5.24 per cent forthe previous month and 5.06 per cent during the corresponding month a year before Similarly, Food inflation stood at 5.61 per cent against 5.26 per cent of the previous month and 5.49 per cent during the corresponding month a year ago.
